Here is a great way to get into the festive spirit with a timeless holiday classic! This rich and creamy drink will warm your heart and delight your guests. Eggnog.
Here are the Ingredients:
– 2 cups heavy cream
– 1 cup whole milk
– 1 cup sugar
– 6 large eggs, separated
– 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
– 1 cup bourbon or brandy
– Nutmeg for garnish
Directions for Eggnog
- In a large saucepan, combine the cream, milk, and sugar. Heat over medium heat until the sugar dissolves.
- In a separate bowl, whisk the egg yolks and gradually add some of the warm cream mixture to temper the eggs.
- Return the egg mixture to the saucepan and cook until the mixture thickens, about 5 minutes.
- Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract and bourbon.
- Now in a separate bowl, beat the egg whites until stiff peaks form. Fold into the eggnog.
- Serve this chilled, and garnish with a sprinkle of nutmeg.
